My Research Interests include the following:
- Vowel reduction
- Speaking styles (clear speech vs. citation-form speech)
- Energetics (energy consumption in speech movements)
- Pansori (Korean Traditional Singing) voice
- Perception of voice: relationship between voice and the image triggered by the voice (This project was published in Discover magazine on-line issue in February 2001. A copy of the article)
- Basic database for Korean consonants and vowels
- Sound quality of musical instruments
- And other stuffs related with human speech sounds, or any other sound for that matter.
SITEC Local Site: I am proud to say that my lab was selected for Kyung-Gi local site for SITEC.
-What is SITEC? It stands for "Speech Information Technology & Industry Promotion Center" headquartered at Won-Kwang University and sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy. It was founded on the 30th of May, 2001.
